Jr. Lifeguard Camp (Grade 3 - 12 yrs)
More action, more fun! The Junior Lifeguard program has been designed by the Lifesaving Society for a serious purpose - but the process is pure fun! The JLC is designed to let kids participate in activities similar to those of real lifeguards. They will experience the skills, and even some of the thrills of lifesaving and lifeguarding. They train for friendly competitions, aim for personal-best performances, do fitnes drills and learn lifesaving skills. They even try some of the lifeguard's daily routinesm, such as blowing a whistle commicating through hand signals, or taking a pool test. These activities are an important part of what kids consider fun and what makes the JLC different from traditional camps or swim lessons. Campers spend the full day in program with a certified YMCA / Lifesaving Instructor/Lifeguard.
