Out of School Programs

The Kitchener-Waterloo YMCA offers a variety of  recreational programs for children during the Out of School hours -- afterschool, on PD Days and during Winter Break & Spring Breaks

All our Out of School options include exciting theme days, small group rotations (craft, active games, quiet games), large group activities, swimming
(A.R. Kaufman Y only) and gym games!

PD Days, Spring Break & Winter Breaks Day Camps are for children ages 5 -12 years and run from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with early and late supervision available.

To register:

• Register on-line
• Download a copy of the Registration Form and print if off. Once completed, these forms can be mailed or dropped off to the A.R. Kaufman Family YMCA along with your method of payment (attach a cheque or provide your credit card information).
• You can also register in person at the A.R. Kaufman Family YMCA.- 333 Carwood Ave.

If your child will require medication while in program, please print off a copy of the Consent to Administer Medication Form, fill it out and bring it with you to program.

Afterschool Antics

Afterschool Antics is a recreational program that promotes personal development, team building, leadership skills, strong values, and independence. Children have the opportunity to participate in a program focusing on social and emotional growth in an atmosphere of fun and friendship.

Afterschool Antics programs are based on the children’s interests, encompassing activities such as crafts, sports, cooperative games, special events, music, and outdoor activities. Children are encouraged to share their interests and program ideas.

Home Alone

Home Alone is for children 10 and 11 years of age and helps to build your child's self confidence, a sense of responsibility, and decision making abilities through a fun and interactive environment. Start your child on the road to independence today!
