Camp Ki-Wa-Y is located on the west shore of Paradise
Lake, just outside of St. Clements. Of Ki-Wa-Y’s
seventy-seven acres, over twenty-five are naturally
wooded, untouched and truly beautiful; a spectacular
surprise considering we’re just 15 minutes away
from Kitchener-Waterloo.

Paradise
Lake is a small kettle lake surrounded
by homes and cottages. In addition to the
swimming dock and water trampoline, Ki-Wa-Y’s
waterfront area has two boating docks and another sandy
beach swimming area is a short walk away.

Specialty
Program Streams
Our program streams combine the very best of innovation
and tradition while accommodating and appealing to both
new and returning campers. This unique residential experience
provides the opportunity to focus on and develop expertise
in a chosen program area. All streams are available
to campers of all ages and campers in each stream are
grouped further according to age, ability, experience
and interest. Thanks to our innovative tracking system,
our camper achievement records are more accurate and
easier to maintain and utilize than ever before.
It is important to note that elements of all activity
areas are included in Ki-Wa-Y’s program to ensure
that all campers, even those with a particular focus,
experience a well rounded program.
Traditions
Traditions is for the camper who can’t get enough
of absolutely everything Ki-Wa-Y has to offer. This
program includes lots of water activities, climbing,
crafts and more. It’s also ideal for a first time
camper who isn’t ready to choose an area in which
to specialize.
Rocks
and Ropes
Our climbing wall and ropes course provide an exhilarating
challenge to beginners and experienced climbers. Qualified
instructors teach the basics of climbing: safety, equipment
use and care, the mechanics of the belay system and
climbing technique.
Wind
and Water
Campers at all boating levels will develop and improve
canoeing, kayaking and windsurfing skills. After basic
introductions to each boating activity, campers will choose
one and further develop their skills in that area.
Canvas
and Clay
This stream is designed to stimulate and enhance creativity,
so both young artists and “wannabe’s”
will enjoy the many creative opportunities Ki-Wa-Y’s
outdoor environment has to offer. Specific activities
will vary depending on the interests of each group of
campers, but will include some combination of landscape
sketching and painting, pottery and weaving.
Strings and Songs
This exciting music program introduces the basics of
playing guitar, keyboards and rhythm instruments. Campers
will learn their favourite camp songs and if they like,
they will perform as a “band” at the last
campfire of the session.
Plays
and Productions
Campers
in this stream will begin the week as playwrights and
end as film editors. Throughout the week they will develop
their script, create props, choose costumes, learn lines,
rehearse and finally, perform their creation.
Please
Note: Campers registered in this stream must have permission
to be videotaped and photographed for possible distribution
to other campers in their group.
Girls’ Camp
Girls’ Camp offers all the exciting features of
Ki-Wa-Y with an atmosphere reminiscent of camping history.
This camp experience provides an environment that encourages
friendships and camaraderie among girls, while eliminating
outside pressures that sometimes hinder the ability
to learn and have fun.
Weekend Changovers
Campers
who stay for consecutive weeks may register for the
weekend changeover - Saturday to Monday for an extra
fee of $64.80. Changeovers do not include stream program.
Transportation
Campers
may take our bus to and/ or from camp, free of charge.
Our bus picks up and drops off at the Moses Springer
Arena in Waterloo. Details are provided to registered
campers.
