Cross-Cultural Notes

Link information with the clients' previous or desired occupations
Support participants in expressing different cultural perspectives while learning
Clarify and explain as often as possible, as this section is heavily saturated with unfamiliar concepts
Pace the delivery and illustrate by using day-to-day metaphors and case studies
Hands-on learning is appreciated by the newcomers. Therefore, have enough resources such as NOC and Job Futures available for them to use for practice
As a follow-up to NOC, participants may request more information on various occupations. You may suggest that they access HRDC resources, Internet information and/or supply them with copies of occupational information, as required
