Module 1 - Session 1.7

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

This session focuses on the application aspects of the learning that has occurred in the last six sessions. In this session, participants think about their past and desired occupations, find information from the resources they were exposed to, and present their information to the class. As a group, participants discuss their discoveries, issues and other findings.

General Expectations or Outcomes of this Session
Participants will become familiar with:

• Finding resources using the Internet, demonstrating that they are somewhat able to use computer networks successfully
• Finding resources linked to their previous as well as desired occupations
• Resources and are able to discuss their findings, success and failures
• Discussing options for career opportunities

Specific Expectations from Session 1.7
Participants will:

• Demonstrate understanding of the delivered career information
• Demonstrate ability to look for information on occupations on the Internet (participants with basic computer and language skills)
• Link information they find to their desired occupation
• Discuss career opportunities in their desired occupations
• Show an interest in their career planning priorities
