Module 1 - Session 1.5

COMPUTER SKILLS TRAINING OPPORTUNITY*

Functional skills in Computers are essential to do any job in Ontario. More professional skills in computer lead to more job opportunities. This session stresses the importance of computers to participants and they learn about how to access resources on learning basic skills in computers to taking courses toward a profession in the computer field.

 

* Over 90% of the jobs in the future will involve some form of computer use.

General Expectations or Outcomes of this Session
Participants will become familiar with:

  • The importance of having functional ability in computers
  • The basic courses in computers that are essential for most workers
  • Where and how to get training
  • The costs of training
  • The time training takes

Specific Expectations from Session 1.5
Participants will understand:

  • What basic or functional courses are important that will improve their chances in the job market
  • What computer skills they have and what they need to upgrade
  • Where to find appropriate computer training opportunities at an affordable cost
