Join Our Team … Come work for the KW YMCA!
The KW YMCA is a friendly and interesting place to work. Employed with our organization, you’ll benefit from and add to the knowledge of a diverse group of co-workers, volunteers and members with different interests and skills.

The Y helps our community. You'll work with an organization that reaches out to many people in Kitchener-Waterloo – each year, over 100,000 people benefit from our varied and diversified programs at over 30 location s throughout the community and we continue to grow. Whether it be from our Child Care, Camp, Immigrant Settlement, International Education, Volunteer Development or Health and Fitness, the Y is here for everyone.

In addition to the “feel good” aspect of working for the KW YMCA, there are also financial benefits. You'll receive competitive wages and, with a minimum hourly commitment, you also receive membership benefits for you and your family. All full-time salaried employees receive comprehensive health benefits and a pension plan.

There are opportunities for everyone's skills and interests. Because the KW YMCA offers so many services and activities, there is a job for everyone. Jobs include:

  • Customer service
  • Fitness instruction
  • Child care and camp
  • Aquatics
  • Maintenance
  • Support services
  • Community program support

The hours are flexible. The Y works with you. The Y is open every day, and both full and part-time employees work a wide range of hours, from early morning to late evening, as well as weekends and holidays. Child care staff work weekdays.

Great training opportunities. The KW YMCA is a great place for career development. Training opportunities are offered to Y employees to learn new job skills, CPR, fitness instruction, leadership and more!

You'll be part of KW YMCA’s history
The Y has served our community since 1895. Today, with thousands of members, the KW YMCA is a most successful and continually expanding Association. You will also be part of an international organization that is at work in more than 120 countries, serving more than 30 million people!

Volunteer at the KW YMCA!
Volunteers make a significant contribution to our organization. The Kitchener-WaterlooYMCA has more than 300 volunteers each month. Without the support of volunteer staff, we could not offer the many programs and services we provide to our members.

For a complete list of our volunteer positions that suit you, please look at our listings on the Volunteer Action Centre's website.

How do I become a volunteer?

To become a volunteer, you have to complete a volunteer application or pick one up at any KW YMCA location.  Once the Volunteer Coordinator receives the completed application, you will be contacted.

If you have any questions, send an e-mail to the Volunteer Coordinator.
